Kitchen Remodeling

A kitchen that doesn't work — not enough counter space, a dead-end layout, cabinets that were dated when you moved in — costs you time every single day. We plan the layout around how you actually cook, then build it with cabinetry, counters, and finishes that hold up to real daily use, not just a photo.

Scope

What a kitchen remodel includes

  • Layout consultation: keep the footprint or reconfigure walls, island, and traffic flow
  • Cabinet removal and installation — stock, semi-custom, or full custom
  • Countertop templating and installation in quartz, granite, or butcher block
  • Backsplash tile installation and finish carpentry (trim, crown, toe kick)
  • Plumbing relocation for sinks, dishwashers, and gas or water lines to the fridge
  • Electrical updates: under-cabinet lighting, recessed lighting, dedicated appliance circuits
  • Flooring replacement or repair to match the new layout
  • Appliance coordination, installation, and final hookup and testing
Our approach

Process note: sequencing around plumbing and electrical

Kitchens fail most often when plumbing, electrical, and cabinetry aren't sequenced correctly — a cabinet installed before a supply line is roughed in means tearing it back out. We rough in plumbing and electrical first, inspect it, then build cabinets and counters around confirmed locations, not assumed ones.

  1. 1In-home consultation: measure the space, discuss layout options and budget
  2. 2Design and material selection: cabinets, counters, backsplash, and fixtures
  3. 3Demo and rough-in: plumbing and electrical relocated or upgraded as needed
  4. 4Cabinet and countertop installation, followed by backsplash and finish carpentry
  5. 5Appliance hookup, final electrical and plumbing connections, and walkthrough
Why STRYDE

Why homeowners trust us with the kitchen

We design around your cooking habits, not a showroom template

A kitchen for someone who cooks daily and hosts often needs different storage and workspace than one for someone who mostly reheats. We ask before we design, so the layout serves you, not a generic floor plan.

One team from demo to final hookup

Cabinets, counters, plumbing, electrical, and flooring are coordinated by us, not four separate subcontractors you have to schedule around each other. Fewer handoffs means fewer delays and fewer things that fall through the cracks.

Fully insured, straightforward pricing

We're fully insured and give you a written, fixed-price scope before demo starts — no open-ended change orders for work that should've been priced up front.
Quick answers

Straight answers to the questions we hear most

Kitchen remodels from STRYDE Home generally start around $18,000 and take four to eight weeks on site, with cabinetry lead times confirmed before demolition.

How much does a kitchen remodel cost?

Most kitchens start around $18,000 for a refresh with new counters, backsplash, paint and hardware. Full cabinetry replacement with new appliances and lighting commonly runs $35,000 and up. Moving plumbing, gas or load-bearing walls adds meaningfully to the price.

How long will my kitchen be out of use?

Plan on four to eight weeks on site for a full remodel, and set up a temporary kitchen elsewhere in the house. We do not start demolition until cabinetry and counters are confirmed, which keeps that window as short as possible.

When should I call?

Call three to six months before you want the kitchen finished. Cabinetry and countertop lead times, not labor, are what set the calendar.

Do you service my area?

Yes, most likely. STRYDE Home works across the Piedmont Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Burlington, Kernersville, Lexington, Asheboro, Reidsville), the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Apex), the Charlotte metro (Concord, Monroe, Gastonia, Kannapolis, Salisbury, Indian Trail) and southern Virginia including Danville, Martinsville and Lynchburg. If your town is close to one of those, call and ask — we will tell you honestly either way.

What should I do before demolition day?

Empty every cabinet and drawer, relocate the refrigerator or microwave to a temporary spot, and clear a path from the driveway to the kitchen. Confirm appliance dimensions with us in advance so cabinet openings are built correctly.

Questions

FAQs about this service

Can you work with my existing kitchen layout?

Often, yes. If your cabinet run, plumbing, and electrical rough-ins are in reasonable positions, a refresh — new cabinets, counters, and finishes in the same footprint — is faster and cheaper than a full layout change. If the layout itself is the problem (a cramped work triangle, an island that doesn't fit, dead corner cabinets), we'll scope the wall, plumbing, and electrical moves needed and price that separately.

Do I need to move out during the remodel?

Most kitchen remodels don't require you to leave the house, but you will lose use of the kitchen for a stretch — typically two to five weeks depending on scope. We help you set up a temporary cooking station (fridge, microwave, hot plate) elsewhere in the house and sequence demo so water and power interruptions are as short as possible.

What's the difference between a refresh and a full gut remodel?

A refresh keeps the existing footprint and swaps cabinets, counters, backsplash, and appliances — usually two to three weeks. A full gut remodel changes the layout: moving walls, relocating plumbing or electrical, reconfiguring the island or pantry — usually four to eight weeks with permitting. We'll tell you honestly which one your kitchen actually needs.

Do you handle appliance installation and gas or electrical hookups?

Yes. We coordinate appliance delivery timing, run new gas lines or 220V circuits where needed, and handle the final connections so your range, dishwasher, and refrigerator are installed and tested before we hand the kitchen back to you.

Bold design. Flawless craftsmanship. Built to last.
