Raleigh, NC Home Remodeling & Restoration Services
Raleigh is really three housing markets stacked on top of each other: the pre-war inside-the-beltline blocks around Five Points, Oakwood and Hayes Barton; the 1960s-80s ranch belt out toward North Hills and Falls River; and the post-2000 build-out in Brier Creek and Wakefield. What a bathroom remodel costs and how long it takes depends almost entirely on which of those three your house belongs to.

Permitting, site conditions and access in Raleigh, NC
What our crews plan for here before a single wall comes down.
Permitted work at your address is reviewed and inspected through the City of Raleigh Development Services Department, or Wake County for addresses in the unincorporated county. We file the permit, schedule the inspections and meet the inspector on site.
Access & schedulingInside-the-beltline streets are narrow with limited on-street parking, so dumpsters and deliveries are staged deliberately and neighbors keep their access. Oakwood and Boylan Heights add historic overlay review to exterior scopes, and Raleigh inspects separately from Wake County, which drives sequencing.
- Plaster, cast-iron waste and out-of-square framing in the pre-war blocks around Five Points, Oakwood and Hayes Barton
- Five-foot alcove tubs on ranch-belt slabs and crawlspaces where a walk-in shower means moving a drain across joists
- Builder-grade finishes reaching end of life all at once in the post-2000 Brier Creek and Wakefield build-out
Our coverage around Raleigh, NC
We work throughout Raleigh and roughly 25 miles out — crews are dispatched daily across the Triangle market.
Why Raleigh homeowners choose STRYDE Home
Inside the beltline we plan for plaster, cast-iron waste lines and 1920s framing that has never been square, plus the Historic Overlay District review that governs exterior changes in Oakwood and Boylan Heights. In the ranch belt the recurring job is a 5-foot alcove tub becoming a tiled walk-in shower, which usually means moving a drain across joists — we confirm joist direction before quoting so the price holds. In the newer north and northwest neighborhoods it's builder-grade finishes reaching end of life all at once, and an HOA architectural submittal for anything on the outside. Raleigh reviews permits through its own Development Services office rather than Wake County, and we file, schedule and meet those inspections ourselves.

Raleigh questions, answered
Who issues permits for Raleigh remodeling work?
The City of Raleigh Development Services Department handles review and inspections inside city limits; addresses in the unincorporated county go through Wake County. Plumbing relocation, new circuits and structural changes are permitted; flooring, painting and like-for-like fixture swaps generally are not.
My house is in Oakwood — does the historic district affect my project?
Interior work is not typically reviewed. Exterior changes — windows, siding, doors, roofing material, porch work — need a certificate of appropriateness from the Raleigh Historic Development Commission, which meets on a set calendar. We build that review window into the schedule before ordering materials.
How far is Raleigh from your crews?
Raleigh is served from our Triad base alongside Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill and Apex. Remodeling projects are scheduled as continuous runs rather than scattered half-days, and restoration dispatch is 24/7 with equipment staged for the Triangle.
