Pressure & Soft Washing
Green-black streaks on the roof, mildew climbing the siding, a driveway that's gone gray with algae — the humidity here works against your exterior surfaces year-round. We clean houses, driveways, and decks using the correct pressure and method for each surface, so you get a clean result without damage.

- Driveway, walkway, and patio pressure washing for concrete and pavers
- Deck cleaning to prep wood or composite decking for staining or sealing
- Fence and retaining wall cleaning
- Gutter exterior brightening to match a freshly washed house
- Mildew and algae treatment to slow regrowth after cleaning
- Pre-paint and pre-stain surface prep as a standalone or bundled service
Process note: matching method to surface
Every surface on a house exterior has a different tolerance for pressure. We start by identifying what's siding, what's roofing, and what's concrete, then set pressure and chemical dwell time for each zone before we start. That's the difference between a clean house and a house with lifted siding seams or stripped roof granules.
- 1Walk the exterior to identify surfaces and problem areas (algae, mildew, staining)
- 2Apply cleaning solution and allow appropriate dwell time on soft-wash surfaces
- 3Soft wash siding and roofing at low pressure
- 4Pressure wash concrete, pavers, and other surfaces rated for higher pressure
- 5Rinse, inspect, and treat with a mildew inhibitor where appropriate

FAQs about this service
Is pressure washing safe for siding, decks, and roofs?
It depends on the surface. Concrete and brick can handle high-pressure washing. Vinyl and wood siding, decking, and especially roof shingles need soft washing — low pressure with a cleaning solution that lifts algae and mildew without stripping paint, forcing water behind siding, or damaging shingle granules. We match the method to the surface, not the other way around.
How often should a house be pressure or soft washed?
Most homes in our region benefit from an annual cleaning, given the humidity and tree cover that drive algae and mildew growth on siding and roofs. Driveways and decks with heavy foot traffic or shade can need attention more often, especially before staining or sealing.
Can pressure washing remove black streaks from my roof?
Those black streaks are typically algae (Gloeocapsa magma), and yes, a proper roof soft wash removes them without damaging shingles the way high-pressure washing would. We use a low-pressure application designed specifically for roofing, not the same setup used on a driveway.
Do you pressure wash before painting or staining?
Yes, and we recommend it. Paint and stain don't bond well to a surface with dirt, mildew, or chalky old paint residue. Cleaning the surface first — siding before exterior painting, a deck before staining — is a standard prep step we build into those projects, and we offer it standalone too.
